Like a sign from above, my mother, out of the blue, gifted me three books – Italian Cooking, 50 easy recipes for Saturday Lunch and…hold your breath…Julia Child’s Mastering the Art of French Cooking! The film was so inspiring. I’m sure the book will be as good, if not better 🙂

Isn’t it just great to have a passion and feed it, literally?!

That’s the great thing about food. Its the one form of art that mentally, spiritually and physically becomes a part of you. Or more correctly, you become It.

In other news, I discovered “doughnut peaches” today. Also knows as a ‘Naka’ because I think it comes from a place called Naka in Japan. Reminds me of the Bengali world “naka”  pronounced nAka, which means arrogance+brattish behavior+extremely irritating.

Naka Peaches. They're actually pale green from the inside and really juicy!
